The Melbourne City Link Project

This project comprised 72,000 m² of absorptive and reflective noise panels being completed over a 9 month period.

The project involved the production of approximately 17,000 panels of standard panel dimensions of 3.6 x 1.2 metres.

The absorptive panels were manufactured adopting 55 mm SoundTrap achieving a N.R.C. of 0.85 and totalled 17,000 m² and the balance being reflective precast concrete panels.

The noise absorptive characteristics of these panels were as follows:

• Noise Reduction Coefficient: 0.85 @ 55 mm thick
• Sound Transmission Class: 51 @ 55 mm thick
• Density: 512 - 800 km/m^3
• Compressive Strength: 2-5 MPa
